A new bill “To require a report on Russian and Chinese intelligence assets in Georgia, and for other purposes” has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on February 24, sponsored by Rep. Joe Wilson and co-sponsored by Rep. Steve Cohen. The bill has been referred to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. No further details are available yet. The bill comes amid a continued freeze in Tbilisi–Washington relations and as the passage of another Georgia-focused bill, the MEGOBARI Act, which foresees sanctions against Georgian Dream officials, remains stalled in the Senate due to reported opposition from several senators.
